Marissa: Tell us your story on how you got into technology?
Danielle: About a decade ago, I started fresh out on college working a few different jobs in the Human Service field with individuals with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities. From there I had the opportunity to build my skills in Project and Program Management. I even worked in tech pharm for a short period. My last job was a technology company which develop products for hospitals in the healthcare field. As you can, I went in several different routes until I found Dataprise. One common interest I’ve always had has been technology.
Marissa: Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?
Danielle: Not quite. Although I started with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, I knew technology was definitely an important element to today’s society and that I wanted to be part of that growing innovation.
Marissa: How long have you been with Dataprise?
Danielle: About three months.

Marissa: Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?
Danielle: I’m a Transition Manager for the Service Transition Team under Professional Services. Honestly, everyday is different from the day before so there’s no such thing as a “typical” day. Our team receives Job Opportunities for new and existing clients which we execute through onboarding and/or integrating of services to help improve their organization.
Marissa: What is one piece of advice you would give to young women looking to get into the technology field?
Danielle: Don’t be afraid to try. There’s always room for growth and the tech industry is rapidly growing and we need more talent and unique perspectives.
Marissa: What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?
Danielle: As long as you have the interest and patience, it’s never too late to learn. You don’t know unless you try! I have a degree in Psychology and went in several different industries until I got into tech.
Marissa: What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?
Danielle: I think we all have something unique to bring. A different perspective or take, no matter what our skills and experience bring.
Marissa: What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?
Danielle: First, I would say is the people. I love being able to connect with everyone. Since I’ve interviewed until now, there’s such a welcoming atmosphere (even for being virtual!). Secondly, the difference we make for our clients and customers. It’s good to know that we’re helping companies protect and improve their organization.
Marissa: Where do you see yourself going from here?
Danielle: Since it’s only been three months, I’d like to continue to learn and grow within the role, team, and company. I hope my talent and skills will be utilize to the best of my abilities and help myself and DP grow.
